A brief history of Sheringham House

The original Sheringham House was built at the top of Cremers Drift for William Ketton Cremer, who lived there until 1920. It was subsequently acquired by the Rev. E. Upcher, the head of a prominent local family, who used the grounds for Sunday school treats and outings.

In 1956 the original building was purchased by the Leicester and County Convalescent Society.

Here is a picture of the original building, before the start of development, that illustrates the development's outstanding position above the town of Sheringham.

In 2001 the construction of the present building commenced, resulting in the luxurious apartments, penthouses, elegant indoor swimming pool and high-security underground car parks which now occupy the superb location of the former Sheringham House.
